Mohthash Musambil is currently working as a Researcher with the Proteomics
Resource Unit at Obesity Research Center. Previously he has been working at the
Genetics Department at Strategic Centre of Diabetes Research, King Saud
University. He graduated from the Garden City College, Bangalore, India under
Bangalore University with a BSc. in Tri core Biotechnology-Biochemistry and
Genetics. Mohthash then did his post-graduation at the prestigious School of Life
Sciences, Manipal University, India in Medical Biotechnology with Molecular
genetics as specialization. His key skills include DNA isolation
[Automated/Manual], Agarose Gel Electrophoresis, Poly Acrylamide Gel
Electrophoresis, Quantification of Nucleic Acids, (PCR) –TP PCR, Exome
sequencing and panel sequencing (Ion torrent-Wetlab). He has been recently
trained on proteomics applications including pre-analytical sample processing,
protein extraction and purification procedures, and various proteomic analysis
techniques. Mohthash has been part of 18 research articles in peer-reviewed ISI
journals and has presented his work at various national and international
conferences. His research interest includes genetic screening and proteomic
profiling of rare and metabolic diseases which could help in early detection and
management.
